Joule Ready identity and branding. This logomark establishes the Joule Ready, a sub-brand of Joule, as something new, friendly, and fun. A visual language of synesthetic flavor and texture shapes for salty, piquant, sweet, butter, and added some extra whimsy to the design language.
The design system employs a wide palette of seven pure colors with three tints of each, giving many color and tint combinations to pair with food photography and theme without being overly reductive or repetitive.
I did more than one hundred custom illustrations for the ChefSteps, Joule, and Joule Ready brands. What started as a hobby project transformed into a cornerstone of all the brands and a key way for us to communicate ideas, instruct customers, and generally have fun.
ChefSteps business cards were designed with a pattern that would repeat in every direction. Expertly letterpress printed by Day Moon Press in Seattle.
